Welcome to Blackburn Orthodontics, a specialty orthodontic practice serving the communities of Independence, Blue Springs, Lee's Summit, Raytown, Grain Valley, Kansas City and the greater Eastern Jackson County.

Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Blackburn attended the University of California, San Diego and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. He conducted biomedical research at the Scripps Research Institute and the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Blackburn earned his DMD degree and MSD degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the Boston University of Dental Medicine. He has received numerous honors and awards for his academic and clinical achievements.
Dr. Blackburn is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, an achievement obtained by only 1 out of 3 orthodontists. He is an active member in the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. His professional memberships include the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, Greater Kansas City Dental Society, and the Eastern Jackson County Dental Society. Dr. Blackburn is an Invisalign Premier Provider and Damon Comfort System Provider.
Dr. Blackburn is married and has three children. In his spare time he enjoys running and cycling and has a passion for travel and photography. He has lived in Argentina and Australia and is fluent in Spanish.
